ROMAN ROOFTOPS & TERRACES

In Rome, don’t miss panoramic terraces where you can enjoy a Spritz or a romantic dinner, depending on your mood, the time, and your budget.

Settimo Roman Cuisine and Terrace

Sofitel Villa Borghese, 47 Via Lombardia Here, you’ll find a magnificent view of Borghese Park, once owned by Pauline Bonaparte. It's not quite in the city center, but it’s full of charm and peaceful. Afterward, take a walk in the park, which is beautiful. Or visit for an aperitif if you’ve managed the extraordinary feat of securing tickets (very rare!) for the Borghese Gallery (featuring works by Bernini, Caravaggio…).

Terrazza Locarno

Hotel Locarno, 22 Via della Penna An absolute favorite! First, for the hotel itself, styled in the 1920s, once frequented by Borges and Basquiat. It has incredible, slightly nostalgic charm, right in the city center. The terrace offers stunning views of Rome’s domes and rooftops.Note: I won’t comment on the drink quality since I don’t drink alcohol, and juice is the same everywhere.

Hotel Locarno, 22 Via della Penna An absolute favorite! First, for the hotel itself, styled in the 1920s, once frequented by Borges and Basquiat. It has incredible, slightly nostalgic charm, right in the city center. The terrace offers stunning views of Rome’s domes and rooftops.Note: I won’t comment on the drink quality since I don’t drink alcohol, and juice is the same everywhere.Note: The guide also needs a ticket, which costs €2 (reservation fee; the ticket itself is free, like for minors).Important:

Nh Collection Hotel

Via Dei Fori Imperiali

This hotel also has a terrace, this time overlooking ancient Rome, including the Forum and the Imperial Forums. The view is sublime. It’s very popular and requires reservations—and it’s not cheap. Perfect after a tour of ancient Rome.

In Rome, don't miss the city's incredible restaurants, from traditional trattorias serving classic pasta to trendy spots offering modern takes on Italian cuisine. Whatever your budget or mood, there's a perfect place to satisfy your cravings.

DITIRAMBO

Piazza della Cancelleria 74 A personal favorite where I go regularly. Located near Campo dei Fiori, it’s very central. The cuisine is Italian, even Roman, but with a touch of originality. Be sure to check the daily specials on the board.

Hosteria Da Pietro

Via di Gesù e Maria 18 Very central, with excellent, traditional cuisine. If you’re looking for classic Roman dishes, this is the place.

Cecco Er Carrettiere

10 Via Benedetta An excellent spot in the Trastevere neighborhood (be careful where you eat here; it’s very touristy). This family-run restaurant has been serving Roman cuisine for three generations, using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients.

Describe one of your services

55 Via dei Gracchi One of the rare good options near the Vatican. The specialty, of course, is pasta all’amatriciana—truly excellent. Don’t miss the fried zucchini flowers or tiramisu. Perfect after a visit to the Vatican Museums.

Hosteria Romana

1 Via del Boccaccio In my opinion, the best spot near the Trevi Fountain, which is a very touristy area. Traditional cuisine—try the abbacchio (milk-fed lamb) or porcini mushrooms when in season.
